DASA Dortmund: Discover for yourself the working worlds of the past, present and future!

OMG, that was close! I almost crashed the plane there. That would have been the end for everyone on board. Thank goodness it was just a simulation! At the DASAMuseum you can try out different jobs – for example, what it’s like to be a pilot.

All around the museum you’ll find interactive installations and exhibits where you can test all sorts of jobs for yourself – including a flight simulator. A little further along and all of a sudden you’ll find yourself in an airport tower or in a printing plant, a stitching shop or a power station.

Not just the Ruhr’s largest working world exhibition but the biggest in the whole of Germany, the DASA Museum almost feels more like an adventure playground, where you can be anything you want to be. The hands-on job swap installations are surrounded by twelve permanent exhibition units. From shift work and job groups to health and safety at work, there’s one element you’ll find everywhere: technology.

A journey through the working worlds of the past, present and future

It’s a great way for kids and grown-ups to learn a lot about the world of work. But the best thing is: the name of the museum is deceptive. So it’s a museum about work, but it’s not a slog at all. Scores of interactive exhibits make the DASA come tolife. Kids, grown-ups and families all love to travel backthrough time, and visitors’ reactions range from “Oh, so that’s how they used to do it” or “I remember that” to “Wow, will we really be able to do that one day?”.

You can explore the museum on your own, or you can join a guided tour.
