Canceled: Hansemarkt Dortmund – back to the Middle Ages

+++ Update: October 21, 2020: Due to the Corona-situation Hansemarkt 2020 was canceled. +++

Knights in shining armour, knife-throwers and market-stallholders – all this makes a tour through the centre of Dortmund at the end of October even more fun than ever.

From the Alter Markt square over to Kleppingstraße, the city centre is transformed into a medieval Hanse city. Willi-Brandt-Platz, for example, is where craftsmen will be setting up their tents. You can see how turners, carpenters and blacksmiths used to work – and maybe even swing a hammer or two yourself.

Of knights, farmers and witches

Not far away in Kleppingstraße, in Witches Alley, you will find lots of natural produce for sale – from beekeepers, cheesemakers, vintners and beer-brewers, for example. There will also be a Westphalian Farmers’ Market and right next to the Reinoldi Church you will be able to cheer along the knights at the medieval tournament.

On top of all that, there’s another highlight, the Alter Markt square is turned into a vintage fairground, and it even has a traditional caterpillar ride. Have fun!
