Ostwall Museum – 20th and 21st century art

The Ostwall Museum is Dortmund’s answer to MoMa. It has a wonderful collection of works by 20th and 21st century artists. And what’s more: In contrast to its big sister in New York, all state museums in Dortmund are free.

Although the name suggest otherwise, the Ostwall Museum is not located on the street called Ostwall – which runs along the line of part of the former city walls -  but in Dortmund’s famous U Tower, which is only a few minutes’ walk from the central station. Alternatively, if you come by car, you can park directly under the “U”.
